Oral Design Symposium

New York, USA

 April, 4-6, 2008

“Our group is more than a mere synergy; we swap ideas, we motivate each other, we rely on each other and we have lots of fun. And although we are currently more than 80 different characters from 38 countries, we are all still very good friends,” according to Oral Design founder Will Geller. He launched the Oral Design Family 26 years ago and it has continued to grow since then – and the claims they make for dental ceramics have been talked about all over the world.

In lectures and courses, the group members are happy to pass on their knowledge and expertise to colleagues time and again – for instance, during the Oral Design Symposium, which was held at the beginning of April 2008 in conjunction with the 3rd Annual Ceramic Symposium at New York University College. The lectures on 4th April by Willi Geller (Switzerland), Dr. Giuseppe Allais (Italy), Jean Marc Etienne (France), Peter Vryonis and Sascha Hein (both from Australia) and by Eric van der Winden (Netherlands) and Jürgen Mehrhof (Germany) were fully booked up with more than 360 participants. The subsequent two-day hands-on course with Willi Geller, in which the master ceramist fabricated a multiple-unit bridge with Creation ZI-F, an anterior crown with Creation CC and two veneers for a patient, was also full with 70 dental technicians. Hence the event was not just a great success for the oral designers. The next symposium will undoubtedly be able to draw on this success in Tokyo in two years’ time.
