Biography sketch
CDT(공인 치과기공사)인 루크 하세가와(Luke Hasegawa)는 1995년 일본의 명문 니가타 치과대학(Niigata Dental University) 치과기공학과를 졸업했으며,
1997년에는 도쿄 의과치과대학(Tokyo Medical and Dental University)의 대학원 과정을 수료했습니다.
그는 1997년 '광투과성 포셀린 및 복합 레진 소재(Light Transmitted Porcelain and Composite Resin Material)'라는 논문으로
국제치과기공사협회(International Dental Technology Association)로부터 '특별 논문상(Special Article Award)'을 수상했습니다.
또한 2008년 플로리다 치과의사협회(Florida Dental Association) 주관 '스마일 대회(Smile Competition)'에서
금메달 3개를 수상하는 영예를 안았습니다. 그는 세계적인 치과기공 분야의 선구자인 윌리 겔러(Willi Geller)와
아이바 나오키(Naoki Aiba)를 사사했으며, 2009년에는 겔러가 이끄는
'오랄 디자인(Oral Design)' 그룹에 합류하도록 초청받았습니다.
그는 전 세계를 무대로 강연 및 실습 교육을 진행하고 있습니다.
1998년 치과기공사로서 일본에서 캐나다로 이주했으며, 2010년부터는 딘 맥닐(Dean McNeel) 박사의
원내 기공실(in-house laboratory)에서 근무하고 있습니다. 현재 미국 아칸소주 페이엇빌(Fayetteville)에서
아내 및 두 딸과 함께 거주하고 있습니다.
Luke Hasegawa, CDT graduated from the dental technology school at Japan’s prestigious Niigata Dental University in 1995,
and completed the post-graduate program at the Tokyo Dental and Medical University in 1997.
He received the “Special Article Award” by the International Dental Technology Association in 1997 for the article titled
“Light Transmitted Porcelain and Composite Resin Material.”
The additional honors include the “Three Gold Medal Awards” from the Florida Dental Association Smile Competition in 2008.
Hehas had the privilege of being mentored by world pioneer technicians Mr. Willi Geller and Mr. Naoki Aiba. Luke was invited
to join
Mr. Geller's Oral Design group in 2009.
He lectures and gives hands-on courses worldwide.
In 1998, he immigrated to Canada from Japan as a dental technologist, and currently works at Dr. Dean McNeel’s in-house
laboratory since 2010. He resides with his wife and two daughters in Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA.

오늘날 디지털화와 소재 기술의 발전으로 인해 우리의 업무는 15년 전보다 훨씬 간편하고 효율적으로 변했습니다. 하지만 동시에, 일부 사례를 제외하면 소셜 미디어에서 접하는 치과 치료의 품질이 대량 생산 방식으로 인해 저하되었고, 젊은 세대 치과의사와 치과기공사의 기술적·분석적 역량 또한 약화되었다고 느낍니다. 다행히 저는 주로 북미에서 보낸 30년의 경력 중 17년 동안 환자 및 치과의사와 매일 소통하는 원내 기공실(in-house lab)을 운영할 수 있었습니다. 또한 아칸소의 외딴 지역에 위치해 있음에도 불구하고, 아날로그 시대와 디지털화 초기 단계에서 쌓은 경험을 바탕으로 아내와 단둘이서 지역 및 원거리 고객을 아우르는 하이엔드 치과기공소를 6년째 성공적으로 운영해 오고 있습니다. 이번 강연에서는 환자와 치과의사의 요구를 충족시키기 위해 제가 실제 임상 과정에서 어떤 부분에 중점을 두는지, 그리고 제가 생각하는 이상적인 치과기공사의 모습은 무엇인지 공유하고자 합니다. 여러분을 만나 뵙기를 고대하겠습니다.
UST BE THE ONE - What is key factor affect to achieve to success for"A DENTAL TECHNICIAN”
Today, with the advancement of digitalization and materials, our work has become much simpler and more productive than 15 years ago. At the same time, I feel that the quality of dental treatments seen on social media, with the exception of some, has declined due to mass production, and the technical and analytical abilities of the younger generation of dentists and dental technicians have declined. Fortunately, during my 30-year career mainly in North America, I have been able to run an in-house laboratory where I interact with patients and dentists every day for 17 years, and have been able to use my experience in the analog era and the early stages of digitalization to run a high-end dental laboratory business consisting of just my wife and myself for six years, despite being in a land isolated from the city of Arkansas, with both local and far-flung clients. On the day, I would like to share what parts of the clinical practice I actually perform that I pay attention to in order to meet the needs of patients and dentists, and what I think is the ideal image of a dental technician.
